Alliance Française d'Albquerque offers TEF Exams

Contact Carolyn Simmons or at 505-872-9288 for details and to register.

Since 2006, the Alliance Française d'Albuquerque has been an official center for the Test d'Evaluation de français of Le français des affaires (formerly the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris), offering the e-TEF, the e-TEFaQ and the e-TEF Canada and the e-TEF pour la naturalisation. Offering an assessment of French language skills for personal, academic or professional reasons these tests are internationally recognized assessments of non-francophone speakers' oral and written French. These tests may be required for certain applications for study or work in France; however, any test can be taken by students simply wishing to have an accurate assessment of their level in French. For the purposes of emigration to Canada, it is recommended that candidates take the new (e-)TEF Canada, or, for Québec, (e-)TEFaQ.

The TEF consists of three compulsory exams ("compréhension écrite, compréhension orale, lexique et structure") and two optional exams ("expression écrite & expression orale"). It may be taken more than once. Afterwards, students receive an "attestation de résultats," good for one year from the date of the test.

The e-TEFaQ consists of two parts, which must be taken together. There is the test of "compréhension orale" (60 multiple choice questions to be answered within 40 minutes) and the test of "expression orale", 2 separate role play/dialogues which take 35 minutes, including preparation time.

The e-TEF Canada is a 3-hour exam which has four sections: "compréhension orale, compréhension écrite, expression orale & expression écrite."

The e-TEF pour la naturalisation is made up of two tests: Compréhension orale (40 minutes multiple choice questions) and Expression orale (15 minutes of interviews).

Please note that while these electronic tests offer the advantage of calculating a test score almost immediately; it still can take up to 4 weeks to receive the official certificate from the CCIP.

If you are interested in more information, or would like to register for one of these exams, please contact Carolyn Simmons at least 4 weeks before you wish to take the exam. Dates for the exams are flexible, so please inquire.

Students must register and send their payment for the exam to the Alliance Française d'Albuquerque 18 days before the date of the exam. Payment cannot be refunded if the student is absent on the day of the exam.
